Introduction

By connecting SumUp, you can accept card payments with a small, handy and wireless device. This guide will show you how to configure SumUp Air correctly.

Configuration

Required to get started

  • Important: To use SumUp Air, you must use 21.POS on a tablet.
  • The “POS Plus Add-on” is required to integrate SumUp into the POS. You can purchase this in the Swiss21 Dashboard under “Abonnemente”.

Connecting the terminal

  1. In the shop administration under “Web cash register” → “Web cash register configuration”, scroll down to the heading “SumUp payment terminal”.
  2. Click on “Connect” to connect your SumUp terminal to the web checkout.

Function in the checkout

Once you have connected the payment terminal, the selection field for payments via SumUp will appear in the payment screen. Payment via SumUp can only be selected via tablet or smartphone. The SumUp app will open automatically on the tablet. We would be happy to show you how it works in a video:

SumUp app

  1. The SumUp app opens automatically on your tablet and connects to the card terminal via Bluetooth.
  2. The amount to be paid appears on the terminal. The customer can now insert their card or pay contactless.
  3. After successful transfer, you can choose between the following receipt options:
  • Receipt is sent via email

  • Receipt is sent via SMS

  • Skip this step if the customer does not want a receipt

  1. The app then closes and you are returned to the sales interface.

Completion

The successful SumUp payment is now displayed in the receipt history of the web cash register, as well as in the shop administration under customer management. Here you can view the details of the sale again if necessary.

You have now successfully completed your first payment with the SumUp terminal.
