Omnilink Receipt Printer
With the Epson receipt printer, you not only print your receipts – it also takes over the central control of further cash register devices. Cash drawer, customer display and barcode scanner can also be connected directly to your cash register via it. This allows you to conveniently capture products with a scanner, which are automatically added to the shopping cart. The customer display always shows the current amount, and the cash drawer opens automatically when paying in cash. In our hardware shop we offer you suitable devices that work smoothly with the Epson receipt printer and your cash register system. This guide explains how to set up the printer and optionally connect additional cash register devices. You will also find possible troubleshooting at the end.
Required to start
- Cash register location:
- A free power connection (220V, T13/T12) – a Swiss power cable is included in the scope of delivery
- A free LAN network connection – a LAN cable (Cat 5E+, RJ-45, max. 2m) is included in the scope of delivery
- The receipt printer must be on the same LAN network as the cash register device (PC/tablet)
- Add-ons:
- Swiss21.org POS Plus Add-on is active
Video tutorial
Step 1: Unpack and prepare

Good to know: We will connect the receipt printer to the LAN network and all other cash register devices will then be connected to the receipt printer. First unpack the receipt printer and all associated materials.
Turn the receipt printer 180° so that you can remove the cover on the back.

Step 2: Connect cables and hardware
- Connect the receipt printer to a power outlet with the power cable. Also connect the receipt printer to your network with the LAN cable (Cat 5E+, RJ-45). In small home networks, this is e.g. a free LAN port on the router.

- If you have also purchased a barcode scanner and/or a customer display, you can connect these directly to the appropriate USB ports on the receipt printer:

-
The cash drawer can also be connected directly to the receipt printer. To do this, plug the small RJ-12 connector opposite the USB ports at the bottom of the receipt printer.
-
Note down the serial number of the receipt printer:

Step 3: Close cover
After you have connected all cables, you can close the cover again.

Step 4: Insert paper roll
- Open the receipt printer at the small flap on the top right.
- Insert the thermal roll into the receipt printer as shown in the figure.
- Insert the roll so that a small strip protrudes from the receipt printer.
- Then close the flap again.

Step 5: Turn on printer
- Make sure the printer is connected to the power supply.
- Turn on the printer by clicking on the on/off switch.
- After approx. 1 minute, a receipt should be printed, keep this until the receipt printer has been set up.

Step 6: Link device(s) with cash register

- Navigate to: “Web cash register” → “Web cash register configuration”
3. Enter Omnilink serial number

Note: Only one receipt printer can be connected per cash register at the same time.
4. Check connection
- Log in to the sales interface with a cash register user.
- Open the “Settings” tab in the menu.
- The connected receipt printer should be displayed there.
5. Perform test sale
Now perform a test sale to ensure that the receipt printer works correctly.

You can customise your receipt:
- To do this, navigate again in the shop administration to: “Web cash register” → “Web cash register configuration” → “Receipt configuration”
- Here you have the following options:
- Upload your own logo
- Display the customer name on the receipt
- Print the cashier’s name on the receipt
