Introduction

In this guide, we explain how to connect your SumUp Solo card terminal to 21.POS in just four steps.

To get started, you will need:

  • Your 21.POS administration login details
  • Access data for your SumUp account
  • Wi-Fi access

Step 1: Connect 21.POS to your SumUp account

First, connect 21.POS to your SumUp account.

  1. In the 21.POS Administration, go to ‘Webkasse’ → ‘Webkasse Konfiguration’ in the navigation bar on the left.
  2. Scroll down to ‘SumUp Payment Terminal’ and click on ‘Connect’.
  3. You will be redirected to the SumUp login screen. Log in and click on ‘Continue’ and then on ‘Allow’.

You will now be redirected back to 21.POS Administration.

Step 2: Connect SumUp Solo to Wi-Fi

In order for SumUp Solo and 21.POS to communicate with each other, SumUp Solo must be connected to Wi-Fi. (Alternatively, it is also possible to connect SumUp to a mobile hotspot on your mobile phone. Using SumUp’s mobile data does not work for the interface.)

  1. Switch on your SumUp Solo.
  2. Drag the arrow at the top of the screen downwards.
  3. Select ‘Connections’.
  4. Press ‘Wi-Fi’. (The white slider next to ‘Wi-Fi’ should be on the right.)
  5. Your Solo will search for secure networks that you can connect to. Connect to the desired Wi-Fi network.
  6. Click on the arrow at the top left. This will take you back to the ‘Connections’ section.

Step 3: Connect SumUp Solo to 21.POS via API

The SumUp Solo is connected to 21.POS via the API interface.

(Important: You must not be logged in to SumUp for this step. If you are logged in, first follow these steps:

  1. Pull down the arrow and open ‘Settings’.
  2. Tap ‘Info’.
  3. Tap ‘Log out’.
  4. A login window will now appear. Do NOT log in.
  5. Pull down the arrow at the top of the screen.
  6. Tap on ‘Connections’.
  7. Follow the next steps.)
  1. Tap ‘API’.
  2. Tap ‘Connect’. A code will now be displayed on the SumUp Solo screen.
  3. Return to 21.POS Administration. You are still in the ‘Web Cash Register Configuration’ area.
  4. Scroll down to ‘SumUp Payment Terminal’.
  5. Click on ‘Pair’.
  6. Enter any name for the device.
  7. Enter the code displayed on the SumUp under ‘Connection Code’.
  8. Click on ‘Pair’ and then on ‘OK’.
  9. Tick the box next to ‘Active’.
  10. Click on ‘Save’ at the bottom.

Step 4: Make a test purchase

In this step, you will create a cash register user and make a test purchase.

Create a cash register user

If you haven’t already done so, first create a cash register user.

  1. Switch to ‘Cash register users / Login’ at the top of the tab.
  2. Click on ‘Add new cash register user’.
  3. Fill out the form.
  4. Click on ‘Save’.

Switch to the web cash register and make a test purchase

To check whether the SumUp Solo interface has been configured successfully, make a test purchase.

  1. Click on ‘Log in’ next to the new cash register user.
  2. You will be redirected to your web cash register.
  3. Add an item to the shopping basket.
  4. Click on ‘Pay’.
  5. Next to the payment method ‘Cash payment’, you will see SumUp Solo as an option.
  6. Click on it, the amount will appear on the SumUp Solo and you can make the payment.

Congratulations, your SumUp Solo is successfully set up and ready for your sales.
