Product Reviews
Introduction
This module allows shop customers to rate products. A rating of 1-5 stars and a comment is given. Depending on the configuration, products can only be rated after the corresponding product has been purchased. You can use your own graphics for the ratings and adapt the display to your own corporate design. This guide explains how you can set up the module.
Benefits
- Build trust: Genuine customer opinions appear credible and create security when purchasing.
- Increase conversion: Products with ratings are purchased more frequently – especially with positive feedback.
- Show transparency: Ratings signal openness and customer proximity – even critical feedback appears authentic.
- Facilitate purchase decisions: Customers get a better idea of the product through the experiences of others (quality, fit, application, etc.).
- Fewer enquiries: Good ratings often answer typical questions that would otherwise go to support.
- Better ranking in search engines: Product pages with ratings and new content are rated more positively by Google.
Configuration
To use this module, the “E-Commerce Plus Add-on” must be activated.
Step 1: Installation
You can install the module in the shop administration under “Modules” → “Module management”. Select the “Product Reviews” module from the “Not yet installed modules” list and click on “Activate”.
Step 2: Module administration

Activation: Here you have the option to activate or deactivate product reviews.

Only users who have purchased the product may rate: It can be set whether anyone may rate a product or only users who have purchased the product.

Rating period in days after purchase: How many days after purchase can a product still be rated? This setting only takes effect if “Only users who have purchased the product may rate” is activated.

Name to display for replies: Which name should be displayed when you reply to the rating?

Notify customer on reply: Should the customer be notified when you reply?

Be notified when a rating is submitted: Do you want to be notified when a rating is submitted?

Button “Manage ratings”: This button takes you directly to “Marketing” → “Product Reviews”. Here you can view all ratings.
Customer side
We will now look at a rating process from the customer side. At least one product has been purchased in the shop by a customer. This can now be rated after purchase.
The number of open (still pending) ratings and the ratings already submitted are displayed in the customer account of the shop customer. This means that only returning customers can submit ratings, i.e. only those customers who have created a login and password.
Under open ratings, the customer can now submit a rating. The customer can choose whether their username should be displayed with the rating or remain anonymous. The rating submitted is adopted in the shop.
The product has now received a rating. Depending on the configuration (see corresponding chapter), the rating submitted is now displayed with the product.

Administration of products with ratings
The shop operator can have limited influence on the ratings of their products. This is very important so that maliciously negative or false ratings are not displayed in the shop.
In the shop administration, click on “Assortment” → “Products” and select the desired product. The ratings of the product are displayed on the left under the “Additional info” field.
Product reviews evaluation
You can find an overview of the ratings in the shop administration under “Marketing” → “Product Reviews”.
The shop owner can compose and publish replies here. Ratings can also be deleted or deactivated.
With the “Calculate average” button, you can have the average ratings of the product calculated. This is important, especially after you have deleted a rating.
