Introduction
For online shop sales to be processed in compliance with the law, it is crucial that VAT is set up correctly in the shop. This guide explains how to enter this information correctly.
Edit value added tax
You use AbaNinja as your ERP system
In many cases, the product master data is maintained directly in the ERP system, where VAT rates or VAT codes are also updated and then transferred to the shop. Proceed as follows:
- Open 21.AbaNinja.
- Navigate to “Products” → “Products” and click on the product you want to edit.
- Click on “Edit product”.
- Assign the correct VAT rate to the product in the “Tax rate” field.
- Save the changes.
- Now open the shop administration of 21.Commerce by clicking on 21.Shop or 21.POS in the dashboard.
- Go to “Modules” → “AbaNinja”.
- Navigate to the “First steps” tab.
- Now click on “AbaNinja” → “21.Commerce”.
You manage everything via 21.Commerce
To manage VAT rates, the option “Shop is VAT liable” must be selected in the shop administration under “Settings” → “General” → “Shop operator/VAT” → “VAT settings”. You can also specify there whether product prices are stated including or excluding VAT.
Edit tax rates in general
To edit tax rates, please follow these steps:
- Open the shop administration and navigate to “Settings” → “Value Added Tax”.
- Under “Define VAT rates” you can edit tax rates or add new ones. You can also determine a standard rate and define VAT for shipping and packaging costs.
- Under “Assign VAT rates” you can assign a VAT rate to individual categories and the products they contain. Please note that all tax rates of the products are overwritten. If there are products in the category where the VAT differs, these must be adjusted manually on the product.
Adjust tax rates on individual products
To adjust the VAT of a product, follow these steps:
- Open the shop administration and navigate to “Assortment” → “Products” and open the product you want to edit.
- In the “VAT rate” field, you can select the appropriate VAT rate.
- Save the changes.
