Omnilink Printer
In this manual you will find the individual steps to connect your hardware and put it into operation. At the end of the instructions you will find possible troubleshooting that may help you in case of problems.
Preconditions
- Checkout:
- One free power connection (220V, T13/T12), Swiss power cable included
- A free LAN network connection, a LAN cable (Cat 5E+, RJ-45, max. 2m) is included
- The receipt printer must be in the same LAN network as the POS operating device (PC/tablet)
- Add-ons:
- Swiss21.org POS-Plus add-on is active

Step 1: Unpack and prepare
First unpack the receipt printer and all materials.
Turn the receipt printer 180° so that you can remove the flap on the back.
Step 2: Connect cables and hardware
Connect the receipt printer to a power outlet using the power cord. Connect the receipt printer to your network using the LAN cable. Note: A LAN cable must be provided by you. (Cat 5E+, RJ-45)
If you have also purchased a scanner and/or display, you can connect these directly to the receipt printer:
The cash drawer can also be connected directly to the receipt printer.
Make a note of the receipt printer serial number:
Step 3: Close the cover
After you have connected all cables, you can close the cover again.
Step 4: Insert the print paper roll
Open the receipt printer by the small flap at the top right. Insert the thermal roll into the receipt printer as shown in the picture. Insert the roll so that a small strip protrudes from the receipt printer. Then close the flap again.
Step 5: Switch on the printer
Make sure the printer is connected to the mains. Switch on the printer by clicking on the on/off switch. After about 1 minute a receipt should print, hold on to it until the receipt printer has been set up.
Step 6: Link device(s) to cash register
Now switch to your swiss21 portal. Make sure you have activated the POS Plus Add-on. Only this module allows you to link the hardware.
Now switch to the 21.POS Administration.
Then click on Webkasse -> Webkasse Configuration.
You will now find the field “Omnilink serial number”, enter the serial number you noted down in step 2 here. You can also tick the box here if you are also using a scanner and/or a display. Then save the settings under Support.
Please note that only one printer can be connected to the 21st POS at a time.
You have now successfully connected your hardware and connected the receipt printer to your cash register.
To check this, log in to the sales interface as a POS user.
In the menu you will find the Settings tab:
You will now see your connected receipt printer here:
The best thing to do now is to run a test sale.
Remember to personalise your receipt by uploading your logo, printing your customer on the receipt or printing your cashier on the receipt.
You can do this in Administration under Web Checkout -> Web Checkout Configuration -> Receipt Configuration:
Troubleshooting
The 21.POS cannot connect to the receipt printer
The following error message appears after opening the Web Cash Register:
Go through the following to troubleshoot the error:
- Is the receipt printer connected to the power and turned on.
- Is the LAN cable connected correctly?
- Is there an IP address on the slip that is printed out after switching on?
- If no -> the receipt printer has no connection to the network. Please check the cable.
- If yes, enter the IP address in the browser:
- Printer is not displayed -> contact the Internet provider for support.
- Printer is displayed -> please contact swiss21 support
LAN cable missing
A Swiss 220V, T13 power cable is supplied with the receipt printer. A LAN cable must be provided by the user (Cat 5E+, RJ-45).
Display shows nothing
Is the display correctly connected to the receipt printer via USB?
- If so, contact swiss21 Support and tell them what the display shows
Scanner does not work
Is the scanner correctly connected to the receipt printer via USB?
- If yes, please contact swiss21 support.
Cash drawer does not open
Is the cash drawer correctly connected to the receipt printer via RJ-12 plug?
- If yes, please contact swiss21 support.
The Omnilink field is not displayed in the web cash register configuration.
Have you activated the 21.POS add-on in the Swiss21 portal?
Receipt printer does not print the info slip after switching on.
Please check the following points:
- Is the receipt printer connected to the power and switched on?
- Is the thermal paper inserted correctly
If these points are correct, contact swiss21 support.
No IP address is displayed on the info sheet
Please check the following points:
- Is the receipt printer correctly connected to the network with the LAN cable?
- Is the receipt printer on the same network as the 21.POS?
If these points are correct, contact swiss21 support.
No more thermal paper
You can buy more thermal paper in the swiss21 hardware shop.

I would like to change to the PepperShop full version. Can I keep the receipt printer?
An upgrade / change to PepperShop full version is possible.
The Omnilink receipt printers are also compatible. In addition, you could also connect several printers and integrate a location management with the additional location module.
Can I connect external hardware to the cash register?
No, only the pre-configured hardware from the swiss21.peppershop shop can be connected. External devices cannot be supported or supported.
